The LA Phil billed its 2026 Hollywood Bowl season as a summer run from June to September, and its last announced dates were The Sound of Music sing-along on September 26 and Jon Batiste on September 27.
The Bowl's own schedule of events tells a different story. It lists shows on 16 nights between October 15 and November 21. These are lease events. The Bowl names Live Nation Hewitt Silva as the lease partner it works with on traffic planning for them. So the orchestra season has ended, but concert nights on Highland Avenue haven't. Through late October they often overlap with shows at The Ford across Cahuenga Pass, and Halloween is the last night both venues have a show.
The Bowl's fall run
Here's what's left on the Bowl calendar as of mid-October 2026:
- Thursday, Oct. 15: Cynthia Erivo
- Friday, Oct. 16 and Sunday, Oct. 18: MILEY: BASS PERSUADES
- Saturday, Oct. 17: SmartLess Live
- Oct. 21, 23, 24, 30 and 31: My Chemical Romance
- Thursday, Oct. 29 and Sunday, Nov. 1: Aerosmith & Friends
- Saturday, Nov. 7: Jimmy Eat World, The Format and The Linda Lindas
- Sunday, Nov. 8: Ms. Lauryn Hill & Wyclef Jean, celebrating 30 years of the Fugees' The Score
- Wednesday, Nov. 18 and Thursday, Nov. 19: Jonas Brothers with All Time Low
- Saturday, Nov. 21: Steve Lacy, at 8 p.m.
The busiest stretch is the last two weeks of October. Between October 15 and November 1, the Bowl has a show on 11 of 18 nights. On the Bowl's listings, these fall shows carry the same "special house rules" notice: no glass, cans or alcohol allowed in. Picnic dinners with a bottle of wine are a Philharmonic-season habit, and they don't apply to this part of the calendar.
The Ford's last weeks
The Ford is the LA Phil's other hillside open-air venue. Its 2026 season runs from May 8 to October 31, according to the LA Phil's season announcement. The final weeks are packed:
| Date | At The Ford |
|---|---|
| Oct. 16 | MAROONS |
| Oct. 17–18 | Iron & Wine |
| Oct. 23 | Julian Lage featuring John Medeski, Jorge Roeder, Kenny Wollesen |
| Oct. 24 | Music Beyond Borders: Discostan with Lifafa and Arushi Jain |
| Oct. 25 | DrumatiX: Rhythm, Redefined! |
| Oct. 27 | Montell Fish: The Nest Tour |
| Oct. 29 | Ava DuVernay's Main Character Energy |
| Oct. 30 | From Dusk Till Dawn, 30th anniversary |
| Oct. 31 | The Rocky Horror Picture Show featuring Sins O' the Flesh |
Set that table beside the Bowl list and the two venues share seven nights: October 16, 17, 23, 24, 29, 30 and 31. After that, The Ford goes quiet. On its homepage, the next event after Halloween is Agnes Obel on May 18, 2027. That leaves a gap of more than six months. The Bowl, meanwhile, still has three weeks of concerts to go.
October 31: two shows, one shuttle stop
Halloween night, My Chemical Romance plays the Bowl at 7 p.m. Across the pass at The Ford, Rocky Horror starts at 8 p.m., and gates open at 6:30. The LA Phil describes the screening, which it co-produces with Street Food Cinema, as a sing-along.
What matters most for anyone driving through Hollywood that night is where the shuttles pick up. Both venues use Ovation Hollywood.
The Bowl lists Ovation Hollywood as one of its four close-in shuttle locations, along with Burbank Metrolink, the LA Zoo and Ventura Boulevard. The Ford's free shuttle runs from two spots: Universal City/Studio City Metro Station and Ovation Hollywood, where it picks up at Orange Court on Level Two. The two schedules overlap:
- Bowl shuttles start running 2.5 hours before the show. For a 7 p.m. start, that's 4:30 p.m.
- The Ford's shuttle starts two hours before showtime, around 6 p.m. for Rocky Horror, and leaves about every 20 minutes until the show begins.
- Bowl shuttles stop heading up the hill at showtime, and return service begins about 20 minutes after the concert ends. The Ford's shuttle doesn't run during the show and picks up again afterward.
That puts both venues' shuttles running from the same Hollywood shopping center between 6 and 7 p.m. Parking at Ovation runs $6 an hour with a $25 daily maximum. Participating businesses validate down to $3 for up to two hours, but The Ford doesn't validate.
For anyone attending, the costs are straightforward. For lease events like the My Chemical Romance shows, the Bowl Shuttle costs $12.45 in advance or $12 at the lot. Park & Ride costs $12.45 round-trip in advance or $15 cash. If you've tapped a Metro TAP card within the previous two hours, the Bowl Shuttle is free. On-site parking at the Bowl for lease events is $55 in Lot D. Lot A is $55 stacked or $90 valet, and Lot C is for rideshare only. At The Ford, on-site parking is $15, or $10 for cars with three or more people. The lot is stacked, so no car can leave until the event is over.
Metro's Hollywood Bowl page offers another route: take the B Line to Hollywood/Highland, then either catch the free shuttle or walk about a mile uphill. Bus lines 222 and 212 also serve the area. The Bowl notes that shuttle lots change from show to show. Pick the specific concert in its transportation selector to see which lots are running that night.
What a Bowl night means above Highland
For people who live off Highland, the fall run means a few more weeks of event-night traffic. The Bowl explains how that works on its neighbors page.
On selected high-traffic nights, Milner Road and Camrose Drive are fully closed at Highland Avenue to everyone except emergency vehicles. The Bowl says the full closure also pushes Waze, Google Maps and Apple Maps to route drivers away from those streets. It's clear about why the closures don't make an exception for residents:
"Due to California law, streets cannot limit access to residents only."
The Bowl offers a text alert sent the morning of each full closure. The uniformed officers on nearby corners on show nights work for LADOT, not LAPD. Some direct traffic and others write parking citations. They can't cite drivers for moving violations. The Bowl says LADOT officers are deployed for every event, with more of them when a large crowd is expected. It also uses rideshare geofencing to send Uber and Lyft pickups to Lot C, away from residential streets.
Late October brings more than Bowl traffic. The Hollywood Partnership's closure calendar lists street impacts on Hollywood Boulevard from October 21 to 25 and October 27 to 28. Its snapshot doesn't show a Halloween closure. Three of My Chemical Romance's five dates, October 21, 23 and 24, fall inside those windows. The calendar can change before October 31, so check the live alerts page closer to Halloween.
How loud the shows sound in the canyons has changed too. For 2026, the Bowl installed an L-Acoustics L1 sound system and says it is the first installation of its kind at any venue in the world. The Bowl says the system aims sound at the audience and limits spill beyond the venue. It also monitors sound at every show and restricts performers from bringing in extra sound systems. The fall shows are the first rock and pop dates to play through it after a full Philharmonic summer.
After November 21
Once Steve Lacy finishes on November 21, the Bowl calendar runs out. For the rest of the fall, the hills' events move east and indoors.
The Griffith Observatory holds free public star parties on October 17, November 14 and December 19, 2026, with telescope viewing from 2 to 9:45 p.m. The October 17 star party falls on the same night as the SmartLess show at the Bowl and the first Iron & Wine show at The Ford. The November 14 and December 19 dates fall after the Bowl's last show. The Observatory is also screening Rebel Without a Cause on Monday, October 26, a night when neither amphitheater has a show.
Closer to Highland, Hollywood Heritage has scheduled Hollywood in Miniature for Saturday, October 24. Its homepage says the museum is temporarily closed until October 2026, so this event is part of its return. That Saturday, My Chemical Romance plays the Bowl and Discostan's Music Beyond Borders plays The Ford, so the Hollywood Heritage event shares a busy night.
The Bowl gives neighbors 4,000 vouchers for Philharmonic performances. It also sends tickets to nearby neighborhood associations for their own events and says it has "significantly increased" the number of concerts that qualify. Requests go through your neighborhood advisory group representatives. The orchestra's summer season is over, but this is a good time to ask which concerts the program will cover next year.
Living near a hillside amphitheater also shapes life around the house: the traffic, the sound, and which nights the road to your driveway is quiet. At Angelo Fierro Group, we keep track of these patterns in the Hollywood Hills year-round, because they're part of daily life here. If you'd like to talk about how the neighborhood around the Bowl and The Ford fits your plans, we'd be glad to sit down with you. Start Your White‑Glove Consultation.
